Who we are
BackReset is an experience-led education project for people navigating recurring back pain. BackReset is the data controller responsible for deciding how personal information collected through this website and our emails is used.
For a privacy request, reply to any email you receive from BackReset. You can stop marketing emails at any time by selecting the unsubscribe link included in every email.
Information we collect
When you request the BackReset guide or join the mailing list, we collect your first name and email address. We also keep information connected with your subscription, such as when and how you subscribed, your consent record, delivery status, email opens and link clicks, and when you unsubscribe.
Please do not submit medical records or detailed health information through the signup form. BackReset does not need that information to send the guide or emails.
Our website and hosting provider may also process limited technical information—such as your IP address, browser, device, request time, and pages requested—to deliver, maintain, and protect the website.
How and why we use your information
We use your information to:
- send the guide you requested;
- send occasional BackReset educational and promotional emails;
- manage subscriptions, unsubscribes, and delivery problems;
- understand broad email engagement so we can improve what we send; and
- keep appropriate records demonstrating consent and honour suppression requests.
Our lawful basis for sending subscriber emails and measuring their engagement is your consent. Signing up is optional. You can withdraw consent at any time using the unsubscribe link in an email. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing that took place before withdrawal.
MailerLite and other service providers
We use MailerLite to collect and manage subscribers, deliver the guide and emails, record consent, and report email delivery and engagement. MailerLite processes subscriber information for BackReset under its data-processing terms.
We may also share limited information with service providers that host, secure, or maintain the website. They may use it only to provide their services to us, unless the law requires otherwise. We do not sell or rent subscriber information and do not share it with third parties for their own marketing.
International transfers
MailerLite and its approved service providers may process information outside the UK. Where required, MailerLite says it uses recognised safeguards for international transfers, including standard contractual clauses. You can read more in MailerLite's Data Processing Addendum.
How long we keep information
We keep active subscriber information while you remain subscribed. If you unsubscribe, we stop sending marketing emails and retain only the limited information needed to record and respect your unsubscribe request, resolve disputes, and meet legal obligations.
We review inactive subscriber records periodically and delete or anonymise information that is no longer needed. We may keep consent records for as long as reasonably necessary to demonstrate compliance.
Your data protection rights
Depending on the circumstances, UK data protection law may give you rights to access, correct, erase, restrict, object to, or receive a copy of your personal information. Where processing relies on consent, you may withdraw that consent at any time.
To exercise a right, reply to any BackReset email. You may also raise a concern with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK data protection regulator.
Changes to this notice
We review this notice when our services or legal obligations change. The updated date at the top shows when it was last revised. If a change materially affects how we use subscriber information, we will provide an appropriate notice.
